Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan confirms that former Eskom Chief Executive Officer Andre de Ruyter spoke to him about alleged corruption at the power utility.
This follows many people questioning why the former Chief Executive Officer Andre De Ruyter didn't expose the corruption happening at Eskom while he was still the leader.
"If Mr De Ruyter has the evidence which I don't know, he must do what is legally required of him, which is go to the law enforcement agencies and give the evidence to them." - Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan.
One of the more egregious examples of Eskom corruption highlighted by the former Eskom Chief Executive Officer Andre De Ruyter was the 2015 contract to supply coal to Eskom’s Majuba power station, awarded to Tegeta Exploration and Resources, owned by the Guptas.
Andre De Ruyter even said two ministers of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Cabinet are stealing money at Eskom.
