A public tribute for Kiernan "AKA" Forbes will take place on February 17. According to a post on AKA's social media, "We as the Forbes family would want to recognize the outpouring of love we have received over the past several days."

According to the announcement, the Sandton Convention Centre will host a public tribute on Friday, February 17. At 15:30, the memorial service begins.

Then, on Saturday, February 18, AKA will be buried in a private provincial funeral.
The Forbes family also stated that Murdah Bongz, aka Bongani Mohosana, will not be present for the memorial owing to "observing cultural etiquette."
Murdah Bongz is married to DJ Zinhle, who had a child, Kairo, age 7, with the late rapper AKA while they were dating each other.
AKA and his long-time friend, Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane, were shot and killed outside a popular night spot in Durban on Friday night.
