Anele Mdoda has affirmed that her sister, Thembisa Nxumalo is on the road to recovery, after revealing that she is fighting for her life in hospital.

- The statement about the star's health was shared by Anele Mdoda on social media on Thursday, 5 August after Thembisa posted she was fighting for her life

Nxumalo was believed to be battling COVID-19, however, the suspicions were only confirmed after the statement was released. In part, the update explained the reason for her hospitalisation, stating, “She is indeed hospitalised and receiving the best medical care at the Sandton MediClinic. She was diagnosed with long COVID-19 which was further aggravated by an allergy. We are fortunate the doctor diagnosed in time and are treating her with the utmost care.”
The statement concluded by confirming that Nxumalo is set to be released from hospital in the coming few days. Moreover, that her situation is not as dire as rumoured.
