Showmax has confirmed the availability of the two-part docu-series by media personality, Bonang Matheba, titled A Very Bonang Year.
Showmax took to Twitter on Tuesday, 3 August 2021, to confirm the availability of the two-part docu-series by Bonang Matheba, titled A Very Bonang Year. The docu-series first premiered on SABC 1 back in August 2020. The docu-series was a year-long project by the leading South African media personality, which she shot in 2019.
The docu-series was initially aimed at functioning as a homage to South Africa, as Matheba had long planned to relocate to the United States of America (USA) in 2020. However, due to the pandemic, her plans were delayed. Therefore, the release of the docu-series functioned as one of the highlights by Matheba during 2020, as the star had already begun to step away from the spotlight to focus on her entrepreneurial ventures.
Following its debut on the public broadcaster, the docu-series broke records. This is as the first part of the docu-series reportedly raked in over 1.86 million viewers upon its airing. Similarly, the second part of the docu-series airings only elevated the numbers to reportedly over two million viewers.
