Makhadzi entered her twenty-fifth birthday through getting embroiled in a disagreement over song rights with fellow Limpopo musician, King Monada.

Makhadzi took to Instagram on Tuesday, 29 June 2021, to share her surprise following King Monada announcing his new single, Ghanama, on which she and Prince Benza are featured. Her shock at the announcement comes on the back of the song allegedly belonging to Makhadzi and not King Monada. Following her shock, the Matorokisi musician addressed the matter in a video that has since gone viral.
In the video that has been circulated on social media, Makhadzi expressed her surprise at being credited as a featured artist on the song. According to Makhadzi, the song is hers. Makhadzi claimed that she enlisted Prince Benza to produce the beat for the song, moreover, that she developed the melodies and hook of the song. Therefore, she does not understand why King Monada is claiming the song as his.
The Hakamatorokisi hit maker proceeded to throw shade and said the Malwedhe idibala hit maker must swallow his pride and credit her for her efforts.
The star made it clear that King Monada will be able to release the single as his if he were to remove her verses and take away the beat produced by Prince Benza. She also stated that her past of being used by her contemporaries has taught her to fight for what is rightly hers, which is what she is doing.
