Viewers of Uyajola 9/9 seem to believe that the isiXhosa-focused episodes are the best, following the episode featuring Thobeka.
Uyajola 9/9 took to Twitter on Friday, 23 July 2021, to share the preview of the back-to-back airing scheduled for Sunday, 25 July 2021. The preview confirmed that Jub Jub would host both airings of the show. Therefore, viewers already knew that even if there was no drama incited by the infidelity, Jub Jub would do so with his commentary. However, viewers did not need to wait long as the show introduced them to Asanda.
Asanda wrote into the show in the hopes that it would confirm her suspicions about her boyfriend’s infidelity. Considering that she was featured, it confirmed Asanda’s suspicions about her boyfriend. Therefore, it was not a surprise when the show found him in the arms of another woman when he was supposed to be at his stokvel.
Yet, the biggest surprise was the introduction of the spirited woman, Thobeka. From the moment Thobeka was introduced to the viewers, it was clear that she is volatile. This is as she was willing to fight Asanda for her boyfriend. Furthermore, when she was denied by the boyfriend, Thobeka was willing to fight them both. This is as the boyfriend attempted to deny her and made it clear that he wanted to be with Asanda.
However, Asanda’s boyfriend was not the only man who was willing to grovel to have their “main” take them back. In the second episode of the day, viewers were introduced to Mumhla, a woman who suspected that her boyfriend is cheating. When Mumhla confronted her boyfriend, he had not been home for over three days, believed to have been with the mistress. When he was discovered, he attempted to make a run for it before he finally confronted the truth.
During the confrontation, the boyfriend did not only deny the other woman, claiming that he met her that day, but he also suggested that he was using the other woman for taxi fare. He went on to ask for Mumhla to take him back, which she was willing to do. Overall, it seems that the episodes were grouped due to the men of the show both asking to be taken back by their official partners.
