SABC has called for interested couples to submit audition tapes to be part of its upcoming first season of a culinary reality show, Wedding Chefs.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) took to Twitter on Monday, 5 July 2021, to circulate a casting call. The casting call is for a new culinary reality show set to air on SABC 1, Wedding Chefs. The show is currently looking for couples who are set to wed in the coming months and are looking for assistance with devising the wedding menu.
Ahead of the casting call for interested couples, the production had sought a professional chef to host the show. In September 2020, SABC 1 put out a casting call seeking a professional chef to host a then-unnamed and undefined culinary show, which was still in pre-production at the time. The chef that the show was looking for was meant to be professionally trained and in their mid-20s to mid-30s. Moreover, they needed to be fluent in local vernacular languages and English. The host of the show has not been revealed as of yet. Moreover, besides the overarching premise of the show, matters like the running order or structure of the episodes have not been shared. In the shared promotional post, it asks for interested couples to share a video detailing their love story and why they want to be part of the show. A closing date was not shared in the call for entries.
