Pearl Thusi has distanced herself from suggestions of an affiliation to the alleged cryptocurrency scam endorsed by fellow media personality, Somizi Mhlongo.

Pearl Thusi took to Twitter on Saturday, 3 July 2021, to distance herself from any association to the alleged cryptocurrency scam endorsed by fellow media personality, Somizi Mhlongo. Mhlongo faced backlash for sharing a since-deleted post canvassing for people to invest in cryptocurrency. The post sparked backlash as it suggested that investors would receive a 90 percent discount for their shares, with R50 000 worth of shares costing only R5 000.

Thusi was one of the guests and co-hosts that attended the alleged presser, which was aimed at advertising the investment plan. Therefore, Twitter users who knew of the fact claimed that Mhlongo was not the only person who endorsed the alleged scam. Thusi, who already has a contentious relationship with Twitter, quickly nipped any suggestions of endorsing the alleged scam in the bud.

Netflix’s Queen Sono made it clear that she attended the event in question in support of Mhlongo and due to work obligations. Her retaliation suggested that she neither supports nor endorses the investment scheme, as she was merely in attendance at the request of her friend, Mhlongo.
