Moja Love took to Twitter on Tuesday, 13 July 2021, to share a statement distancing the channel from the inflammatory post shared by Uyajola 9/9 host, Jub Jub. The host took to Instagram on the day to share a video of himself explaining why he endorses the looting currently taking place in some parts of the country. In his post, Jub Jub suggested that the looting is highlighting the dissatisfaction and impoverishment experienced by those that are not Black, working-class citizens.

In response to Jub Jub’s post, Moja Love’s statement read, “The socio-economic situation of the country is a stark reality we empathise with, but we do not condone violence in addressing the matter. We call on South Africans to stand together to denounce the looting, violence and lawlessness that has gripped the country.”

Despite the statement, it seems that the channel will not take any other action to reprimand or further distance itself from Jub Jub.
