Makhadzi took to Twitter on Thursday, 1 July 2021, to confirm that the alleged feud between her and King Monada was a ruse. Earlier in the week, the two were believed to be feuding over their joint single, Ghanama, featuring Prince Benza. This was after King Monada posted the imminent release of the single with Makhadzi as a featured guest, while she claimed that the song was allegedly hers.
For the rest of the week, the two maintained the ruse. This is even as Prince Benza was at the receiving end of the backlash. Prince Benza was ridiculed for his affiliation with Open Mic Records. The recording company has recently faced bad press for allegedly snubbing Nomcebo Zikode, due to the attention she has received for featuring in popular song, Jerusalema.
In light of Makhadzi’s confession, fans wondered if her honesty did more damage than good. Fans suggested that the publicity stunt was unnecessary. Moreover, since the actions of the past week were a PR stunt, she could have continued the ruse, and merely stated that they have decided to release the single after reaching an amicable agreement.
