The Major League DJz have premiered the third episode of the Balcony Mix season three, with Boohle, the current leading amapiano female vocalist, as the featured guest.
The Major League DJz took to Instagram on Saturday, 3 July 2021, to confirm the availability of the third episode of the Balcony Mix season three. Following the release of the third episode of the new season, it is clear that the focus of the new season is to highlight vocalists that are currently dominating within the amapiano sub-genre. The first episode featured Focalistic, the second featured Amaroto, consisting of Reece Madlisa and Zuma, and the latest episode features Boohle.
Moreover, the shift in focus from producer-DJs in the second season to vocalists in the third season comes on the back of the recovery of Banele Mbere, one half of the twin duo. The decision to temporarily replace Banele with fellow producer-DJs was taken in the second season. However, upon his return to the decks alongside his brother, Bandile, the focus of the new season has changed.
In this edition of the Balcony Mix, the twins opted for a vocally led set. This came as a surprise feature, as their sets are normally purely instrumental or instrumentally progressive sets, with breaks including vocally led tracks or samples. However, for this set, the twins started with a vocal-led single, and subsequently did not break convention.
