Jessica Sithole confirmed her exit from The River, following the latest episode which saw her character, Nyakallo meet her demise.

The model and theatre actor earned the favor of The River viewers in May 2021, when she debuted as the demure and meek housekeeper, filling in for her aunt in the Dikana mansion. Nyakallo was the character the viewers “loved to hate” on the telenovela, when she strategically earned a proposal and got married to Zweli Dikana, played by Hlomla Dandala.

However, after Nyakallo over played her hand by gloating to Lindiwe Dikana, played by Sindi Dlathu, fans of the show called for Nyakallo’s head. In the latest episode, Nyakallo was drugged and thrown out of the Blue Train by Lindiwe, concluding her role in the world of The River. Arguably, Nyakallo earned the respect of viewers in her breakout role.

Following the airing of the episode, the star took to Instagram to confirm her exit. Moreover, Sithole thanked the cast and crew of The River, for welcoming her on set. In light of her exit, it is unclear if the star has already lined up her next television role or not.
