Cassper Nyovest took to Twitter on Wednesday, 7 July 2021, to confirm that he is venturing into television. The post was one which continued to bring light to his current philanthropic efforts to help a young woman in Swaziland accrue funds. #SaveNompilo is an online fundraiser fronted by Nyovest for Nompilo, who suffers from a rare disease called cystic fibrosis. Nyovest has been campaigning for people to make donations and help Nompilo raise R2 million, in order to continue paying her medical bills and getting her a lung transplant.
In the post, Nyovest revealed that Nedbank donated R100 000 to the cause. Nedbank is also one of the sponsors of the show that Nyovest is currently working on. No further details have been shared yet on the premise of the show or where it is set to air. However, the Good For That rapper did reveal that it is set to premiere in the coming weeks.
The show is set to mark the first venture by Nyovest in television. In the past, Nyovest has only made cameos in shows like Idols South Africa as a guest judge. Therefore, in taking this step, he joins some of his contemporaries, like AKA, who created, produced and fronted his own show. AKA was the brains and host of The Braai Show With AKA, which aired on SABC 1.
