Babes and Mampintsha
  • Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha have created a social media account for little baby Spnge and the content is hilarious
  • The couple seem to enjoy 'interacting' with the baby and it seems that he has also made some adoring fans
  • Social media users could not hide their amusement as they shared screenshots of 'conversations' between Mampintsha and his infant son

Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha introduced the official Instagram page of their first child, known as Sponge Wodumo, sparking much conversation because of his supposed ability to read and write.

Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” and Mandla “Mampintsha Shimora” Maphumulo took to Instagram on Thursday, 16 July 2021, to create the official page of their first born, Sponge Wodumo. The newly married couple revealed that they had delivered their first child on Wednesday, 16 June 2021, ahead of the release of their three-part Showmax wedding special, Uthando Lodumo.

Therefore, the significance of the creation of the page is that it marks the first month since Sponge was introduced to the world. Moreover, the creation of the page affirms the child’s name as Sponge. However, it is still unclear whether the name is merely a nickname by the two parents, in light of the pet name they had given each other while pregnant.

Considering that Sponge arguably has two of the most controversial parents in the local entertainment industry, it was no surprise that the introduction of the young one would also result in public furore. However, what shocked social media users and resulted in the infant trending, was the since-deleted response from their page directed at his father, Mampintsha.

Mampintsha took to Instagram on Thursday, 15 July 2021, to introduce his son’s Instagram page with a touching post. In the post, Mampintsha wrote, “For all the things/My hands have held/The best by far/Is you.” The post earned doting and touching responses. However, what social media users could not get over was that Sponge’s page also left a comment on the post.

Sponge allegedly commented on the post, stating, “Thanks dad,” to which Mampintsha also replied. Considering that Sponge was already engaging on Instagram, the matter became comic relief on Twitter. Some users detailed, in various humorous ways, how the infant is already one of the leading celebrities to come out of KwaZulu-Natal.
