If you are just starting out playing Path of Exile, then you will have more than likely noticed a few features that make the title unique from other ARPGs. One such unique feature is the PoE currency that is used. Rather than using gold in the traditional sense, here we use orbs and scrolls. These then play a big role in the trading market in the game with the use of Exalted Orb, Chaos Orb, and more being frequently used.
How Do I Find PoE Currency?
Before we take a look at how we can farm currency, we will first want to know how we can get the PoE currency we need in the first place. Currency isn’t generally hard to come across, though some forms of it are rarer than others.The ways in which you can get it are pretty straightforward as you would expect. You can get currency by slaying monsters, or you can find them in containers and chests. If you really want to try your hand, then you can delve into the vendor recipes in the game where you can PoE trade certain PoE items in order to make currency.
That being said, we want to learn a few ways in which we can try making a lot of Path of Exile currency, and thankfully in Path of Exile, we do have a number of methods in which we can do so. Without further ado, let’s take a look at some techniques to get more PoE currency.
Mapping
Mapping is another rather unique feature of Path of Exile that you might have come across. More importantly, in this case, it is a way for us to make some profit. By mapping in general and getting the drops from this, you can expect to make a decent fortune. You can also have syndicate members set up so that you get the drops that you are looking for. It is also recommended that you try out prophecies since some can be quite valuable.Uber Labyrinth
The Uber Labyrinth is very handy if you are looking to farm stuff in Path of Exile that you wouldn’t normally be able to get. One way of taking advantage of this is to have the max amount of Treasure Keys and clear out the maze. You will be using Argus and Izaro, and will need to keep an eye on the treasure chests and lockboxes as this will determine the amount that you make. You may even find unique boots known as Death’s Door, which are very valuable.If this is something that you would like to look into, then make sure you have a decent build to get you through it, no matter what method you choose to get through it. Having an idea of how the Labyrinth is laid out will also be advantageous.
Chaos/Rare Items
This isn’t the most glamourous of methods, but if you are new to the game, you will find it very effective. As a beginner, it's not likely that you will have gone through areas to gain access to maps and such. You are more likely to be taking in side quests, clearing out locations, and grabbing as many rare items as you can.This is a perfectly viable method since you will be picking up a lot of items that can then be sold. These can be sold to vendors that you come across vendors to sell your rare items too. You will also have plenty of Orb of Alteration as well which you can then exchange for Chaos Orbs in a league.
Vendor Recipes
You will have heard that you can also use vendor recipes to make PoE currency already, in which you collect and sell a rare set of items to get yourself a few Chaos Orbs. To find these, you are going to need up to 10 items that include body armour, gloves, helmet, belt, boots, two rings, weapons, and an amulet.This is something that is available to you later on in the campaign. A piece of advice if you are going to do this is to focus on the accessories first. This includes your rings, belts, amulets, and so on since they won’t be taking up as much space in your inventory as the other items would. Once you have done so, you can start introducing helmets, gloves, and boots before going after the more space-consuming items.
