Some people really are just lucky. A KwaZulu-Natal FNB bank user bought a R100 Lotto ticket on Tuesday and ended up winning the R135 million Powerball jackpot. According to FNB spokesperson Themba Msimango, the new multi-millionaire purchased the winning ticked by choosing the quickpick option through the FNB online banking platform.
TimesLIVE reported that Msimango said that since 2015, more than R1.354bn in winnings has been paid out to FNB customers who played Lotto and Powerball through the bank's digital platforms. The SA lottery shared news of the Powerball winner on Twitter and South Africans freaked out.
