1. Backup- Restore Files
The best and default step is to restore all files from the backup(if you have already backed up and saved all data and files), then follow these steps:
- Press the Windows key and type Control Panel> System and Security> Backup and Restore.
- Select Restore my files, and then follow step by step from the wizard tool.
If you cannot find the “restore my files” option, click ‘Select another backup to restore files from’ and follow the instructions on the restore wizard.
You can also recover/restore deleted files in Windows 10 using the File History option.
- On the search bar, type File History, and select the File History folder.
- Now, type the file name in the search bar and click Restore. By default, it saves your File on the same destination. Now, click and hold the Restore button & select Restore to choose a preferred location.
You can also try the “Restore Previous Version” method by following below steps:
- Go to the folder that contains permanently deleted files and right-click on it to get the context menu.
- Select ‘Restore previous versions.’
- You will get the list of available versions; select the version when your files are present.
- Click Restore, or drag and drop the version at a preferred location on your computer.
Note: Choosing a different location from where the data was deleted is advised. You can use an external drive to save the recovered data.
2. Advanced Disk Recovery Software
No matter how you lost your data, you can recover/restore your deleted files irrespective of location, such as external or internal hard drive or removable device, provided the data is not overwritten, using a third-party tool, Advanced Disk Recovery.
With Deep Scan and Quick Scan features, Quick Scan uses Master File Table to search all the files with the same filename, whereas Deep Scan uses file signatures to find deleted files. The tool comes with a simple and clean interface and can recover all types of data, whether text or video.
