Coffee Mishaps

One common daily mishap every office worker would like to avoid is getting their clothes soiled. It affects productivity, as one will feel uncomfortable or embarrassed wearing stained clothing. If you spill coffee on yourself at work, do not panic; there are many ways to eliminate these stains. In today's article, we will discuss how to avoid coffee stains or rectify coffee spills so you can look and feel good at work.

Wash the stain right away.

First, you should go to the bathroom and wash the stain with water; you can use toilet paper and water to wipe it down as deeply as possible. The sooner you clean up the stain, the better chances you will have of getting rid of the stain. Once you have cleaned the stain properly, the second thing you need to do is let it dry. If you have a hand dryer in your office, you can use that; you should allow the stain to dry underneath the hand dryer. This is a swift and easy way to get rid of any coffee stains, so make sure to use this method.

Use soap

The stain will be much more prominent if you drink your coffee with creamer and sugar. If you spill your coffee during office hours, there is no better way to wash it immediately. Please go into the bathroom, apply water and soap on your stain, rub it in with a paper towel, and let it dry once it looks clean. You can use the hand dryer to make the process faster. You might have to remove that clothing, so keep that in mind.

Carry baking soda

Baking soda is one of the most underrated ingredients in the market; the things you can do with it are unfathomable. If you carry baking soda with you at work and spill coffee on your clothes, use a dash of baking soda and put it on your stain with some water. You will notice that the stain gets removed after the first wash. We recommend you apply baking soda when you get the stain on your clothing.

Use rubbing alcohol

Every workplace has an emergency tool, which will have an alcohol swab. If you are in a pinch, then you can use an alcohol swab to get rid of the stain right away. One thing to keep in mind when using rubbing alcohol or alcohol swabs is that they can fade the color. If you have a colorful shirt or pants, then we recommend you stay away from rubbing alcohol. However, you should be okay with it if the color is black or white. Make sure to use rubbing alcohol with water so that your clothing does not have a bad smell. Use alcohol swabs or rubbing alcohol if you have a nasty stain or you don't have baking soda on tap, alcohol swab or rubbing alcohol should be your last option.

Carry baking soda

Carry an extra piece of clothing with you.

Even though some people might have better options, it could be a good idea if you have a car and drive to work. You can always have a handy pair of clothes ready when accidents like this happen. Keep extra trousers and a top as a safety net. If you spill coffee on your clothes, you can always change in the restroom.

Go home and change

The techniques we discussed will usually work. However, if you have a terrible stain on a piece of clothing, we recommend you ask your superior if you can go home and change. To be productive, you need to feel clean, so your clothing must be nice and clean. You can handle this matter if you explain what happened to your superiors.

Even though coffee stains are rare, they can happen, and when they do occur, you must take care of them immediately. The sooner you take care of the coffee stain, the better your chances of getting rid of it. Use whatever tool you have at your disposal to clean up the stain first; use water, soap, or any other thing that will clean out the stain. This will ensure that your clothing looks good afterward, and you should go home and change. The last thing you want to do is feel disgusted when you're working; it will lower your productivity. Besides that, make sure you enjoy your coffee responsibly and be proactive when you spill coffee on yourself.
