Many people want to work out. However, they don't want to pay for a gym membership or feel uncomfortable going to the gym and don't want to invest $600 for a home treadmill. Regardless of your reason, you can still get a great workout at home. What can you do? No worries! We're here to share some tremendous at-home exercises you can utilize to help you reach your fitness goals.
Jump rope

If you have children, you can always include them in this activity. It's great for children to see their parents doing something healthy and following along. Following up your session with a healthy smoothie can turn a simple workout into a bonding experience with your child—make an afternoon of it. You can even get handy no-mess blenders to keep things quick. If you don't have a blender, read more about your two best options here.
Stepping on Chair
Stepping on Chair |
You can try step-ups if you have a chair or other sturdy steps of a similar height. This isn't a particularly complicated exercise—you just step up on the surface and then down repeatedly at whatever pace feels comfortable to you. Adding weights can be a great way to step up this exercise.
Alternately, if you have a flight of stairs at your home, you can do step-ups on them or even run up and down them. Both options are a great lower-body workout and will increase your heart health.
Planks
Planks |
The plank is an excellent exercise for your entire core. To perform a plank, lie flat on the floor facing down, then lift up on your toes and elbows, holding your body straight like a plank in the air. Try and maintain this position on the floor and keep your butt down. You can start small and try and hold it for 30 seconds. The more comfortable you get with this exercise, and the fitter you become, the longer you can keep it.
A fun challenge is to put on a song and see if you can hold the plank throughout the entire song. Give it a try.
Lunges
Lunges |
Lunges are an excellent way to get your entire lower body working. When you lunge forward, make sure not to allow your knee to go over your toes, as this can cause damage to your knee. It's also essential to do the same number of lunges on the left side as on the right. This will keep your legs evenly strong.
Pushups
Pushups |
Pushups are a great upper-body exercise. There are many phases of pushups, so no matter your fitness level, you can do them. You can do pushups against a wall or on your knees if you are just starting. Once you gain strength, you can advance to a regular pushup where your weight is balanced on your hands and toes.
As you can see, there are so many home workout options. We hope this guide helps. Keep trying different exercises at home, and you will be on your way to reaching your fitness goals in no time.
