As per an announcement discharged by SAMRO, the members from the board had a gathering to talk about the kwaito legends position in the association particularly considering that the trial against him is as yet in progress.
In light of the assault accusations that have been directed at Arthur by singer and ex-girlfriend Cici, the South African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) has confirmed that he no longer forms part of the organisation’s board.
“In the SAMRO board meeting held on the 28 June of 2018, the board resolved that notice be given to Mr Mafokate of the decision to initiate the process to remove him from the SAMRO board as a non-executive director,” read the statement.
The organisation further added that the allegations made against Arthur have caused a lot of unwanted attention to the organization and also goes against what the organization stands for when it comes to the rights of women in this country.
Cici recently sent Arthur a message asking him how he can still plead not guilty after she posted the injuries she sustained during their altercation last year.
