By now you would've heard of the untimely passing of Tsekeleke. The artist passed on due to complications related to his battle with diabetes.

In light of his death we celebrate the lives of other Kwaito musicians who left us way too soon. 

Singer Mixon Tholo  

well known to many as Fatty Boom Boom or Tsekeleke passed on late lastnight after some health issues since last year.

Tsekeleke who had been in and out of hospitals for a while spent his last two months in hospital and had undergone some amputations, four to be exact.

Dr Mageu

Dr Mageu passed away in 2008 whilst imprisoned at the Heidelberg prison, Mageu contributed his talents to groups like Brothers of Peace and was part of the TKZee family as well.

Ma-Willies

Ma-Willis also passed away in 2008, the kwaito star was said to have passed on due to TB. Ma-Willies passed on just after contributing to DJ Mahoot & Vetkuk's smash hit - Phul'iqolo.

Makhendlas

Makhendlas died at the height of his career back in 1998 when he committed suicide. Last year marked the 18 years since he passed away. Makhendlas was also Arthur Mafokate's brother.

Zombo

2008 was definitely a difficult year for the Kwaito community as it also lost Zombo who was HIV+. 
Zombo had even appeared on music show - Live to share the devastating results of the illness and how people need to take care of themselves when it comes to protecting themselves from the disease.

Lebo Mathosa

Lebo Mathosa was a popular South African kwaito singer. Mathosa started her career with the popular South African band Boom Shaka in 1994 at the age of 17, after she caught the eye of music producer Don Laka at a club in Johannesburg, Died: 23 October 2006, Germiston
Purity
999 music also lost a young star on the rise. Remember Purity who also featured on Arthur Mafokate's Haaibo music video? Purity passed on in the early 2000's, Purity death was a result of complications related to meningitis.

Les Ma-Ada

Alaska member, Les Ma-Ada passed on in 2013 leaving behind his other 4 members of the group.

Brown Dash

Brown Dash passed on in 2012, two weeks after he performed at the SAMAs in Sun City that year.

Mandoza

Another death that hit the nation hard was that of Mandoza who passed away last year December.
