Just when salon stylist GC (Khaya Dladla) was on the road to starting afresh and forgetting about his past, his closet- case ex-boyfriend Jojo (Siphesihle Cele) returns to KwaMashu on Wednesday 28 June to win him back. “GC tells Jojo that it’s too late. He’s tired of playing the waiting game,” says Khaya.
On Thursday 29 June, Jojo tells him that he’s wants their relationship to last and hits GC with the surprise of his life: a proposal. “GC is beyond nervous! He loves Jojo but he’s scared of taking this big step in their relationship,” says Khaya. GC’s hairdresser besties Thobile (Nokuthula Mabika) and Sma (Sihle Ndaba) try to talk him into agreeing – and he does!
“Glamorous GC starts imagining his wedding gown and quickly forgets about their history,” laughs Khaya. Later on Thursday 29 June, GC agrees to walk down the aisle and unlike the last time that they tried to get their romance going, GC wants his wedding day to be a public matter. On Friday 30 June, he asks Pastor Mdletshe (Glen Gabela) to carry out his lobola negotiations. “GC wants this to be a normal wedding.
He is tired of pretending and wants to show off his man,” but Pastor Mdletshe isn’t happy and is against letting homos_exual men get married at his church. “Although Pastor Mdletshe doesn’t support the idea, he agrees because he wants GC to have his perfect ending and get the wedding that he deserves,” says Khaya.
GC is running around like a headless chicken by Tuesday 4 July and “he is nervous. He didn’t think that this would ever happen,” says Khaya and his bridezilla personality takes over. “He’s goes over budget and out of control! GC starts making all types of demands and tells Jojo that he wants a venue at an expensive hotel in Zimbali and he wants to feel important,” says Khaya. Later that day, Pastor Mdletshe confides his worries in his wife MaNzuza (Leleti Khumalo) that he’s uncomfy and that’s a problem. “GC wants the perfect wedding. He has people to impress and he’d rather scratch the idea than have an incomplete one. He’ll go crazy if the Pastor bails on him now,” says Khaya.
