Music veteran Oskido has some strong words to share about the value placed in getting awards.
Just weeks after the drama that unfolded at the recent SAMAs, the muso has shared his thoughts about working towards longevity in the industry.
Through a string of tweets Oskido said that the music industry has never been about winning awards.
"The music industry has never been about winning awards.. Some artists win a lot of awards in their first few years and then disappear after that," he added.
Oskido also revealed that he only got his first award after 17 years in the industry and that artists should respect the game.
"It took me 17 years to win my first award! It's all about consistency and staying relevant! Respect the game, respect the fans, and respect," he said.
