And although the pain of losing Gugu so suddenly has not yet healed, his loving wife, Letshego Zulu has decided to again start, what she and Gugu had embarked on last year.

"A lot of people have been asking me '.....but why are you going back? You've been there and it holds sad memories.' And I've said that it actually doesn't hold sad memories, I'm staying true to what Gugs and I worked towards, and that is to keep a girl child in school. And this specific cause that we're climbing for, caring for girls is very personal to us as parents to a young girl ourselves. "

When Letshego and Gugu were informed about the main reason behind summiting the mountain, they did not think twice and immediately got involved.

"We didn't even skip a beat to get involved because so many people don't know the plight of a South African girl. These girls are our future and if we don't take care of them at such a young age, then what are we saying and what are we doing with the future of our country?"

Letshego shares that she had decided on the mountain, before Gugu's passing that she would go back to the mountai And losing Gugu has not changed her mind at all and that she will still continue speaking out for the girl child who has no voice to speak up for herself. Also, this trip to the mountain is to honor her husband's memory as well.
