The story between music star and record label boss Arthur Mafokate and his girlfriend singer Cici real Busisiwe Twala seems to be far from over. Arthur who has been charged with common assault over the incident that happened at their Midrand house.
Speaking to Tshisa Live Arthur has said that he didn’t assault Cici and he will work hard to prove his innocence.
“The claims are baseless. I am not an abuser and I never will be,”Arthur says.
A source close to the couple says they believe Arthur’s version as they know him better and also have an insight on what happened on the night.
“From what I know the two had a squabble and as Arthur was driving off that is when he hurt Cici, but that was not on purpose. It’s only when he heard her making noises that he saw that he had hurt her,” the source says.
Another source says even though he is not sure what happened, Cici may have been pressured by her family to press charges since they allegedly do not like Arthur.
“Cici’s family isn’t so keen on Arthur, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they were behind the charges,” the source says.
Another source who knows the couple well suggests that the couples problems started a long time ago and they are not surprised by the alleged reports that Arthur was having an affair.
“Arthur is known to be someone who loves women, so those reports aren’t a shocker. The assault part, I can’t comment as it’s something only the two of them know.”
Cici posted a picture on her Instagram thanking people for the support they have showed her during this hard time and also showed some injuries she is believed to have sustained from the alleged assault.
Whether this is all true or false, time will tell.
