Actor Thato Molamu appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates court on Tuesday where his drunk driving case was postponed to next month.
“The case was postponed to June 29 for further investigation. The accused was not asked to plead, though he indicated to the court that he would plead not guilty,” police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela said.
Thato was nabbed by police in Pretoria in the early hours of Monday morning after officials noticed the actor driving erratically near the corner of Nelson Mandela and Rissik Street in Sunnyside, Pretoria.
“Police noticed a Jaguar driving suspiciously and decided to approach the driver at the next stop. They found him to be under the influence of alcohol and took him to Sunnyside police station for further investigation. He was detained and, once he had sobered up, was released on R1,000 bail,” he said.
Thato could not be named prior to his appearance in court.
Attempts to contact Thato for comment were unsuccessful.
