The Old Oak Bridge, which is across the N1, will be demolished and removed from the weekend from 12 to 14 May.
It is part of a multimillion rand upgrade of the N1 near Cape Town.
According to Taki Amira, councilor in this area, the N1 (in both directions) will be closed from Friday 12 May at 19:00 until Monday 14 May, 05:00.
Motorists traveling in Paarl will be traversed by Eversdalweg. Motorists entering the city will be dropped on a route, including the R300.
The Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works started in early 2016 with an R487 million upgrade of the N1.
As part of this project, a 9 km stretch of the N1, which extends from the Plattekloof changer to R300, will be improved.
Parts of the N1 are widened and interchanges are upgraded. The whole project is expected to last three years.
