Following his arrest on Saturday on countless charges of fraud, DJ Zinhle’s boyfriend, Brendon Naidoo, will spend the next eight days in prison.
Today, Brendon appeared at the Alexandra magistrate’s court where his mother Ramela Reddy and members of his family came to support him.
The magistrate Boshoff said Brendon would have to wait for his next court date on 18 April 2017 while evidence is being gathered by all parties involved.
According to an unnamed law expert, if Brendon is found guilty he could be looking at a possible 25 years in jail.
On Saturday, DRUM spoke to Brendon’s mother Ramela, who said she doesn’t know what is going to happen to her son and she will let the family lawyers speak on their behalf.
Brendon’s lawyers, Mr Abaner from Mngcebisa Attorney says they are still gathering the necessary evidence for the case,”We have just come to see Brendon and once we get the all evidence we will be able to give an update, for now we cannot give too much,” said Abaner.
Drum understands that on Saturday DJ Zinhle and her friend Lerato Kganyago went to see Brendon in the early hours of the morning to try and speak to him, but they were not allowed to see him due to strict visiting hours.
