According to reports by Netwerk24, Charlize Theron is considering her first South African movie role.
The Oscar winner is reportedly in talks to take on the role of Susan Nell in the big screen adaptation of the South African novel, The Boer Whore.
The book, written by Nico Moolman, tells the story of Susan Nell, a teenage rape victim in a British concentration camp during the Anglo-Boer War at the turn of the twentieth century.
A spokesperson for ZB Media Group, who’s doing the casting for the film, confirmed to Netwerk24’s Charles Smith that Charlize was sent the script and that she has shown interest.
However the local beauty is yet to confirm if she will take on the role that will see her speaking Afrikaans on the big screen.
Charlize has spoken Afrikaans on the big screen before. In the film 15 Minutes she plays the role of Rose Hearn, the owner of an escort service, and speaks a few words of Afrikaans to another character.
