In the wake of former rugby legend Joost van der Westhuizen's death, his estranged wife and singer Amor Vittone has penned a touching tribute to him.
Amor shared a heartfelt tribute to the former Springbok who died on Monday afternoon after a lengthy battle with motor neuron disease.
“It’s with a sad and heavy heart that we said farewell to Joost an hour ago. We’ve been embraced with friends and lots of love. Joost, rest in peace and know that Jordan and Kylie will always have you in their hearts. You are now with the angels and not in any pain," wrote Amor.
The singer went on to express the love she felt for Joost. "You are and always will be my first love. We love you,” Amor added.
Sources close to the family have told TshisaLIVE that Joost was taken home from hospital to die in comfort surrounded by family and friends.
This after Joost was rushed to hospital on Saturday where he was admitted to ICU after his respiratory muscles weakened due to MND.
