DRUM got a chance to hangout with successful entrepreneurs Gil Oved, Marnus Broodryk, Romeo Kumalo and Dawn Nathan-Jones who are the ‘Sharks’ on Mnet’s new reality show Shark Tank and they shared a bit of wisdom with us on the keys to being a successful entrepreneur.
Here’s expert advice on being a successful entrepreneur:
- Always start by doing something you are passionate about, because passion will sustain you when things are tough and the business is going through challenges.
- Come up with a business that will solve a societal or community problems that will not only create you a space that your business is needed but also help make it a commercial success.
- Always execute your ideas, don’t be an entrepreneur who is all talk and no execution.
- Find ways to unwind when the pressure gets too much, this will help you to refocus and comeback to solve whatever problem you have with a clear mind.
- Try find people who are also passionate about your line of work to work with you.
- Entrepreneurship is about having the spirit and guts and tenacity to be one, not only about the business idea one has.
