SAM MEYIWA is spitting fire again.
This time it’s because of the song Senzo in Kelly Khumalo’s new album, My Truth.
While it is generally thought Kelly did the song to remember and honour the late Bafana Bafana goalkeeper and captain, Sam wants nothing to do with it.
“She did that song simply to irritate us,” Sam told Daily Sun in a phone interview.
“Where did this girl come from? What does she want from us? How much more pain does she want me and my family to suffer?” He said it seems Kelly is happy Senzo is dead and she wants to cash in on his name.
“Uyeyisa lentomba-zane,” he said, which means “this girl is disrespectful”.
“The truth we want from her is who killed my son, not to make songs we do not understand.”
During the interview Senzo’s mother grabbed the phone.
“If Kelly is the good
person she says she is, she should tell us what happened the day Senzo died before doing silly songs,” she said.
In the isiZulu song Kelly sings about how her lover was suddenly taken away.
“We wanted to raise our kids and expand our family,” says the song.
She said she wanted to tell Senzo just one more time that she loves him.
“My love, I love you. No day passes without me missing you. No one will ever take your place in my heart. I love you today, love you tomorrow and love you forever.”
Kelly could not be reached as her phone went straight to voicemail.
Her publicist, Linda Moeketsi, asked the SunTeam to send questions via e-mail.
Linda said via e-mail that Kelly has no further comment on the matter. “It has been handed over to her legal team.
“These are very serious allegations and they will be handled accordingly,” said the
e-mail.
