TV PRESENTER, Minnie Dlamini, nearly gave Essence Festival organisers a heart attack.
This after she allegedly failed to pitch for the event on Thursday.
Minnie allegedly failed to arrive – because she was shooting a reality show, Tropika Island of Treasure.
According to sources close to the festival, Minnie was supposed to report in Durban where she had allegedly been booked.
She was allegedly also going to MC at one of their events.
The source claimed Minnie, who was to MC with Idols judge Somizi Mhlongo, was a no-show and couldn’t be contacted.
“We had to look at her Instagram page to try and track her whereabouts,” the source said.
Another source claimed that organisers are unhappy with Minnie.
“She was supposed to make noise about Durban Tourism and conduct interviews to create the hype, but that didn’t happen,” said the source.
The source said to add insult to injury, Minnie was already paid for her duties.
Another source said Minnie was supposed to have been in Durban by Thursday to commence her MCing duty. This source added that her face is already on posters and adverts.
“We’re not sure what to tell people,” a frustrated organiser said.
“We approached them last year already. I’m sure she knew about the Tropika Island of Treasurethen,” the source said.
Earlier this year, Sunday Sun reported that Minnie failed to pitch for an event she had been booked for.
We also reported that she arrived late for the E! News red carpet at the Metro FM Awards earlier this year.
One of the organisers, Ben Moseme, said Minnie arrived yesterday.
“She just landed today at 11am (Saturday). Her call time is at 3pm,” he said.
Minnie couldn’t be reached for comment.
