A twar (twitter war) has taken place between Sports Minister, Fikile Mbalula, and South African Olympian, Sunette Viljoen over a bonus payment reward of R70 000 that was promised to medal winners.
Viljoen who walked away with a silver medial in Javelin at this years Olympics held in Rio Brazil took to social media after Mbalula failed to respond to calls, WhatsApp and text messages.
According to TimesLive, Viljoen has allegedly been waiting for two months for the money.
Viljoen took to Twitter to complain about the way she is being treated with a lack of appreciation. Mbalula responded by saying that he has been harassed by Viljoen and her girlfriend, calling her arrogant and thankless.

Never, ever uttered these words. This is how you are treated for winning an Olympic medal. What a total disgrace. Always doing it on my own. pic.twitter.com/NFmSIqzgyD— Sunette Viljoen (@Sunette_Viljoen) November 7, 2016

You may criticize me for venting my frustrations on social media, but I’m left with no choice. Millions will be wasted on the Sports Awards.— Sunette Viljoen (@Sunette_Viljoen) November 7, 2016
