It’s no secret that actress Lerato Mvelase is a sangoma. 
“I am very open about my calling. I have always known about it since I was young. Coming from a very Christian upbringing I was afraid I might lose my family once I began my journey. But my mom was very supportive and I am grateful,” Lerato says.
With a successful acting career and having accepted her ancestral calling, Lerato has now decided to pursue a singing career.
“I have built my reputation as an actor, now I want to share my other side, which is music,” she says.
Lerato who recently posted sexy and revealing pictures of herself on social media, told Drum that, “This is the new me. I am a sexy mom of two beautiful girls, Nikiwe and Nkanyezi, I am a sangoma and I have embraced it, I hope everyone else will do the same.”
Lerato is making the final touches to her first album due for release in 2017. “I am still deciding on the title of the album, the number of tracks to release and which single to release first, but I am very passionate about my song Izinyanya which says everything about who I am.”
