THE new Mrs South Africa 2017, Hlengiwe Twala, said she feels honoured to have won the title.
“It feels so incredible to win and to represent my country.
“I am truly blessed,” said the 37-year-old model and mother of three.
The event was held at Emperors Palace, Gauteng, on Friday night.
The production was amazing and all 25 contestants had a great evening.
The contestants were dressed in beautiful gowns made by local fashion designers.
Hlengiwe told SunBuzz: “The only difference between Miss South Africa and Mrs South Africa is that in the Miss SA pageant, the young women are still single, while we are aging gracefully.
“But apart from that, both pageants aim to bring about change in society.
“The contestants want to be great role models for future leaders of this beautiful country.”
She said she has learnt a lot from the other contestants.
“The lessons I learnt from the other 24 contestants will help me a lot in the future,” said Hlengiwe.
She told the People’s Paper that she will continue to take part in various charities, such as the Cancer Association of South Africa, which is the main sponsor of the Mrs South Africa.
