It has on Monday afternoon been confirmed that actor Dumisani Mbebe's journey on Rhythm City has come to an end.
In a statement issued by e.tv the broadcaster confirmed that the actor who plays the character of Doc Dandala will be leaving.
According to the statement Dumisani's last episode on the show will air on November 8.
“We are always very sad to say goodbye to cast members, Dumisani has brilliantly portrayed his role as Doc Dandala for the past 3 years. We will miss him on the Rhythm City set and on our screens. e.tv, Rhythm City producers, cast and crew wish him all the best with his future endeavours," said Rhythm City producer Yula Quinn.
Dumisani's exit from the soapie after three years is due to a change in focus. The actor is set to focus on working behind the lens and growing his production company Ingomso Film Skills and Youth Development.
Rural drama series The Kingdom which aired earlier this year garnered Dumisani much acclaim as the producer.
The actor's company has also produced local flicks such as Between Friends.
