Local rappers Cassper Nyovest and Kwesta have a fan in international star, Jidenna!
The Classic Man hitmaker made a stop in Johannesburg for a few days to promote his upcoming album Long Live The Chief.
Speaking to THE JUICE on Tuesday, Jidenna spoke to the publication about local acts he likes, and the barber who keeps him in the loop.
"I really like Cassper. I also just got put onto Kwesta," he shared.
There’s also been some talk in the media about the star's Soweto barber who lets him know what’s good.
"My barber, every time I come and get my hair cut he plays me the music. And I’m always like, ‘don’t give me the number one pop clean man or woman. Tell me who’s the new up and coming rapper or the new person trying to revitalise the kwaito sound.'"
Although he hasn’t mentioned any local collaborations just yet, Jidenna says he’ll know who the right artist is when they meet.
