New record company Mabala Noise Entertainment has been the talk of the town after signing local entertainers Riky Rick, Khanyi Mbau, Gigi Lamayne and Nasty C.
Now, according to sources, Mabala Noise Entertainment has added Nigerian artist and host of Lip Sync Battle Africa D’banj to their list.
“D’banj has already signed the contract but they will not admit to it as yet,” said the source.
“D’banj has already signed the contract but they will not admit to it as yet,” said the source.
Hloni Gumede, Head of Communications at Mabala Noise said, “People might have seen D’banj hanging out with Mabala bosses and assumed we signed him. He’s our friend and we’ve shared ideas with him like we do with a lot of people in the industry. That does not mean we have signed him,” Gumede said.
Gumede lashed out, saying he is tired of people questioning every move that Mabala Noise makes.
“We are trying to change the face of entertainment in South Africa and better the lives of you, talented black people. We are not politicians, we are entertainers. No-one ever asks white-owned record companies where they get their money or how much they pay their artists or who they signed,” Gumede added.
