BABES WODUMO spends more time partying than praying.
So say members of Mount Zion Faith Mission in Lamontville, in Durban.
They claim Babes’s dad, Bishop Welcome Simelane, has been calling on young people to go to church.
This while his own daughter, the Wololo hitmaker, real name Bongekile Simelane, has allegedly been dololo in church lately!
Church members claimed the singer hasn’t been to church since cracking the music industry.
Sources close to the situation said churchgoers are worried about her absence from the house of worship.
“His daughter is forever out and about and constantly skipping church,” a church member said.
Babes allegedly spends more time popping champagne and shaking her booty with fans instead of attending church.
A churchgoer said: “At first we understood she was doing it for work purposes, but we haven’t seen her for months now. On the other hand, the bishop stresses that young people need to be always in church, while his daughter’s a no-show.”
Another member said: “Her dad shouldn’t dwell a lot on young people not coming to church as his own daughter doesn’t bother to.”
Babes refused to comment and referred us to her manager, Qhubani “DJ Qness” Ndlovu.
He promised the SunTeam he’ll respond in writing, but hadn’t done so at the time of going to print.
This week Bishop Simelane refused to comment.
