StarTimes just announced that subscribers will be able to watch all the action from the biggest global sporting event, the Rio Olympics 2016 on all the SABC channels, carried on the StarSat platform, from 05 August – 21 August 2016.
The competition venues will be clustered in four zones – Barra da Tijuca, Copacabana, Deodoro and Maracanã. StarSat will be broadcasting all your favourite sports like athletics, swimming, golf, football, basketball, tennis and gymnastics. This prestigious event will see world renowned athletes back to retain their gold medal titles like Usain Bolt and Michel Phelps, with some newcomers on a mission to make a name for themselves.

The Opening ceremony will be broadcast Friday, 05th August 2016 from 00h50 – 04h30 and the closing ceremony on Sunday, 21st August live from the Maracanã stadium on SABC 2.
