A Sunday Sun source alleged that Nathi’s wife, Nothando, came to the Richards Bay Holiday Inn, but left upon hearing her hubby and Doctor Nomcebo Mthembu had already checked in.
“And the minister wasn’t getting medical treatment!” said the mole.
Nathi married Nothando in a Shembe ceremony in November 2014, at Ongoye in KZN. Sources claim Nathi’s love affair with the doctor started last year.
Dr Nomcebo is the organiser of the Miss Indoni Cultural Festival in KZN.
One source said: “I feel sorry for the wife. She’s in the rural areas while the minister is with Nomcebo in Durban.”
This source added: “Nkosinathi’s crazy about her! His wife will have to accept her because her Shembe church allows polygamy.”
A third source said: “Early last month, Nkosinathi’s kids went with Nomcebo to the camp of Miss Indoni, at Cedara, in Pietermaritzburg.
“It may be that his wife has accepted Nomcebo. We’re not sure about the arrangements.”
Another source claimed the SAPS is a sponsor of Miss Indoni, saying: “That event has always been sponsored by the Department of Arts and Culture.”
At the SAPS Ministry, Musa Zondi confirmed the relationship between Nathi and Nomcebo.
“What they’re planning to do is neither here nor there. But the minister confirms a relationship – the only relationship that exists.”
Zondi said the minister denied allegations of a visit to a Richard’s Bay hotel.
He added: “There’s an existing memorandum of understanding (MOU) between police and Indoni which the Minister found in effect when he took office.”
On the allegations of polygamy plans, Zondi said: “The minister feels his private life shouldn’t be viewed from the prism of the church. What the church allows or doesn’t is not a determinant of his relationships.”
Nomcebo confirmed she’s in a relationship with Nathi. Her assistant, Sindy Mdima, stated:
“Yes, Dr Mthembu and Mr Nhleko are in a relationship. She and his kids love each other. As far as I know Mr Nhleko is not in a relationship with anyone but Dr Mthembu,” she said. The SunTeam was kicked out of Nathi’s home at Ongoye, in KZN, when we tried to get Nothando’s comment.
