BOTHA Mabulana believes his mum proposed marriage to him just after his dad died in 2009.
“She wanted me to take over the role of the father figure,” said Botha Mabulana (41) from Bredell in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni.
But mum Pulane Mabota (62) told Daily Sun her son is lying and she can’t marry him.
“I believe he is mentally unstable. I took him to sangomas and doctors, but they told me they couldn’t find out what was wrong with him,” she said.
“I think he is not okay. It’s not the first time I heard that he said I wanted him to take the role of his late father.”
According to Botha, at the time of the funeral his mum ordered that his father’s coffin be taken to his bedroom instead of her bedroom.
He said it meant that he should take over the role of the father.
“She touched me on my cheek and said we must get married.
“But I refused and ever since then my life has gone backwards.
“My relationships don’t last long. This thing of my mum stresses me a lot,” said Botha.
“When I visit my mum in Bolobedu Village, Limpopo, she acts strangely” said Botha, who is a truck driver.
“She keeps calling me Mokgalajwe, which is my father’s nickname. During the holidays she expects me to buy groceries and feed her grandchildren. This is too much for me and I can’t take it any more. I’d only like to be appreciated for being a good man who buys groceries.”
Pulane said she never called her son Mokgalajwe.
“I call him Matome, which is his real name,” she said.
