Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema said the party is ready for the upcoming municipal elections.
Malema told thousands who packed Peter Mokaba Stadium that the EFF ran a positive election campaign and he is very proud to be associated with an organisation that does not rely on celebrities to attract votes.
1. Proud of the fighters
“I am proud of all fighters. We have fought a good fight. You have worked with no resources. You fought for what is right.”
2. Need only five years in office
“We are asking South Africans to give us five years. We will do in five years what they have failed to do in 22 years.”
3. ANC died with Nelson Mandela
“The ANC is dead. It was buried with Mandela. If you want the ANC, go to Qunu."
4. Non-violent campaign
“Not a single drop of blood was spilt when the EFF selected its councillor candidates. Let us not kill our people because we have an uncontrollable ambition for power.”
5. Increase social grant
“I heard people lying that I will take away grants. I won’t take it away, I will increase it. Pensioners will get R3,000."
