ONE woman was preparing supper in her kitchen while another was walking home to fix a meal for her family.
Both never got to fulfil their duties!
Sibongile Madondo (48), who was on her way home, was crushed to death by a bakkie that landed in Maureen Dlamini’s kitchen.
Maureen (53) is fighting for her life in hospital.
The incident took place at Richmond Farm near KwaMashu, north of Durban, on Saturday afternoon. The driver of the bakkie allegedly lost control, hitting Sibongile, her daughter Nkule (21) and granddaughter Ntando (1) before crashing into Maureen’s shack.
Sibongile’s cousin, Nonhlanhla Magubane (40), said: “Their groceries lay scattered at the accident scene.”
Captain Nqobile Gwala said a case of culpable homicide has been opened.
She said circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated and no arrest has been made.
