Without a doubt one of SA hip-hop’s best offering for 2015-2016, Emtee’s debut album has gone platinum.
Soon after buying his Mercedes Benz A45AMG, Emtee is celebrating another milestone.
Boasting hits such as ‘Roll Up’, ‘Pearl Thusi’ and ‘Winning’, Avery has gone platinum. The album has sold more than 40 000 physical copies as of 01 July 2016, having dominated the airwaves, giving Emtee acclaim and star status.
Real name Mthembeni Ndevu, Emtee has manged to win Best Rap Album and Record of the Year at the SAMAs with the album. He’s also won Best Music Video, Best Remix and Best Hip Hop Album at the Metro FM awards.
With all the accolades, features, money and fame, one would think Emtee would take it easy, but that’s not what he’s planning to do. The Matatiele native says he’ll even work harder and doesn’t want to feel like he ‘made it’.
I still can’t get use to it. It still hasn’t registered. I don’t ever wanna feel like “I made it”. I’m still hustlin. Stackin
