Rockville season 4 sets the stage for the model to shine in her acting career.
Though she was supposed to be in season 1 of the show, she had to miss the opportunity due to other work commitments, but Ayanda Thabethe’s now ready to take the bull by its horns and make her mark in the television industry.
“I was supposed to be in season 1 but I was still working a 9 to 5 job and it required me to take time off to shoot. Which “I couldn’t do at the time with the demands of the job,” she told Sunday World.
She stars as a stripper named Aliyah on the Furgusson-produced soap opera, a character she said required her to show much of her body, which took out a lot from her.
‘You have to be comfortable with your body to be able to expose that part of yourself. But this role has so many facets and I have to prepare my psyche and understand why she makes the choices she does so that I don’t judge her,’ she said.
“She does what she has to do in order to survive. She’s a timid, loving, free-spirited girl but because of her unfortunate background she has to be fierce,” Ayanda added.
As if being an actress, model and businesswoman is not enough, Thabethe will be coming to a screen near you as a TV host for an international show. Details of the show are not known as yet.
“It’s exciting and people are going to love it. People are now going to see Ayanda as a TV host too.”
