OUTSPOKEN Durban-based artist, Zinhle Ngidi, is pregnant!
The Trademark & Zinhle Ngidi lead singer was spotted with a bulging tummy at the recent launch of the group’s debut album in Rosebank, Jozi.
“Zinhle is pregnant and has been hiding it from her team.
“She’s been so careful with her baby bump that her colleagues only became aware of it on the day of their album launch,” a source said.
The source added it’s understandable that she’s gone mute about her situation because she loves what she’s doing and doesn’t want to be held back by anything.
The source told Sunday Sun: “Her team only saw her big tummy as she was performing.
“It’s shocking as they have to promote the album. When your album is out, you need to promote it while it’s still fresh and keep the momentum going.
“In her case, that means there’ll be a time when gigs will be put on hold as she has to give birth and take care of the baby.”
According to the source, despite the pregnancy Zinhle still gives it her all when she performs.
“Yes, I’m pregnant and I’m not hiding it. I want to keep my personal life out of the media. But I can’t. I’m pretty much involved in the album and I’ve attended all the album launches and am still fine and go to the doctor for check-ups. I’m okay. I work and go out like I normally do.
“I’ll be going on maternity leave but that’s it. I wanted this to be an exclusive thing, and I guess I was waiting for the right moment,” she said.
Asked about the baby daddy, Zinhle refused to reveal his name. “He’s not in the music industry or famous and that makes things a lot easier,” she said.
