International R&B superstar Seal chose South Africa as the first country to kick-start his 12-country world tour.
He performed at the TicketPro Dome in Joburg on Sunday.
Speaking at a press junket, the 53-year old star said he loves South Africa, because “it’s a progressive country, so it was a natural choice for me to want to come here first”.
Catch Seal at the ICC Durban Arena tomorrow and in Cape Town at the Grand West Arena on Thursday.
The four-time Grammy Award winner spoke fondly about Africa and also mentioned the fact that his parents hail from the continent.
“South Africans are very warm people and I must say, I think the accent is very sexy. I know from experience, because I once dated a South African woman and I thought her accent was very sexy,” he chuckled.

Local singer Bucie, who was also present at the press briefing, was put under the spotlight by the Kiss from a Rose singer when he said he was listening to her this morning while he was jogging.
“I like her music, she’s a great singer and artist,” he said.
These kind words drove Bucie to tears. “This is very special to me, it’s a great moment indeed as he has been mentioning me throughout his interviews,” a teary-eyed Bucie told us.
