IN a quest to revive its music stable, 999 Music has signed Tumi Tladi.
Tumi, a dancer for Cassper Nyovest, comes from a successful musical family.
His dad, Peter Tladi, is a renowned music promoter, who has discovered and managed famous legends like Rebecca Malope and Brenda Fassie among others.
Peter is known to most of us as the biggest black music promoter.
He’s also known for festivals like the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival, the Mapungubwe Arts Festival and many more which have taken place during the last 20 years in Mzansi.
Tumi chose to sign with 999 Music, which is known for urban music, instead of Bula Music.
Bula Music is known for discovering Moneoa, Sfiso Ncwane, Shwi noMtekhala, Lundi and many more.
But Tumi went for the jugular and chose 999 Music, a company that has made waves in its return to the music scene with Cici, Ishmael, DJ AJ and more.
Tumi’s single is currently on high rotation on channels like Trace, MTV Base and Channel O.
“I’m very excited to be mentored by a legend like Arthur,” said Tumi when asked about his future.
Arthur Mafokate of 999 Music confirmed the deal and told Sunday Sun they’re already half way through their hip-hop project, soon to be released.
